How To Detect Early Signs Of Washing Machine Deterioration

!±8± How To Detect Early Signs Of Washing Machine Deterioration

Your washing machine actually sends off deterioration warning signs and signals. You just have to be perceptive about those signs. This way, you can fix the problems right away to avoid more washer damages and breakages.

Note Some Changes In The Noise While On The Spin Or Washing Cycle

Your usual whisper-soft washer can turn noisy and annoying if the motor part is not working well. This might be due to loose objects stuck inside the washer or might be caused by accumulated soap suds.

Cleaning your washer is imperative. Make sure you run an empty hot water cycle at least twice a month and add a cup of distilled vinegar and a cup of baking soda to get rid of soap scum. Also check the washer motor for any signs of loose and foreign objects.

Low Water Pressure

This might be due to the dirty filtration system of the machine. If dirt and debris are clogging the filter, water cannot pass through easily. Try cleaning the filter. Remove the hose from the back part of your washer and take off the filter. Clean the filter under running water. Make sure you remove debris and dirt. Once it has been cleaned already, you can place it back inside the water hose.

Also check the water hose for signs of kinks. Low water pressure might be due to obstructions in the water hose. Straighten out kinks or replace the water hose if there are damages.

Strong Washer Vibrations

A few jerky movements of your washer can be caused by an imbalance of loads. But if your washer frequently trashes around especially during the washing and spinning cycle, you might need to check the drive belt. If there are any damages to the drive belt, it won't function as well as before. You need to replace the belt with a new one.

Code Errors

If you encounter code errors frequently, it might be caused by poor flow of electricity. Check the plug of the washer. Make sure there are not cuts or damages to the plug.

Other code errors can be fixed by restarting your washer. For top loaders, you can restart your washer by turning the agitator to a complete 360 degree spin until you can no longer spin the agitator. For front loaders, just rotate the drum until it locks.

Code errors also mean circuit problems. This is common especially if your machine has LED panel display.
